Altho so much of this is over my head and I have to do a lot of copy/paste google, this stuff is really interesting and those pix are great. Can’t believe those prices tho. Wow.
Yeah, the cost of ammo has gone waaay up. But $1500 for a top grade factory rifle is not really that expensive.
Not sure what else is over your head, but you can always email me if Google doesn’t give you the answers you want.
My partner sold a nice 30/30 version of that rig to another friend of mine awhile back. It was the first lever action he had for his collection. I like to think of those as the first semi auto rifles.15 rounds of rapid fire fury.
Must have had a barrel that stretched all the way to next week Rich. At 2.55” per cartridge, plus room for the spring and the follower, 15 rounds of .30-30 needs a barrel more than 3 feet long. OTOH, the Model 94 was once sold in a Legacy version with a 24” barrel, and that one would hold 14+1 rounds of .357 Mag or .44 Mag. I’ve got one in .44 Mag, and I refer to it as my Cowboy Assault Rifle.
They look quite similar, but a Model 94 is not a Model 71 or a Model 1886. Or a Model 92, or a Model 1885 ... they all look pretty much the same. “Cowboy guns”.
