Gift wrapping with your parrot.  It’s a tad longish BUT it is FUNNY!

  1. I just had to print this out for Mrs. Bailey.

She’s a former neighbor with a parrot. I say former because she had moved to be closer to her daughter, who is helping care for her while she’s being treated for cancer. Do to some recent route ‘adjustments’ I ended up being her new mailman. Hence our recent reunion.

Doc’s gave her three months to live...that was six months ago. She says it’s the best Christmas ever!

She’ll get a kick out of this.

Very pleased that the post will cheer her up.  Will share this comment with the person who sent it to me.

Is there any chance for a recovery or is it too late?

  3. Peiper, there’s always a chance for a recovery while there’s breath.  The last I heard, contrary to their personal opinions, doctors are not G-d.  And, I’ve not yet heard that G-d is out of the miracle “business”.

Christopher, thanks for letting us know that the “gift wrapping with your parrot” post was able to reach out to a lady who sorely needs a laugh.  We’ve passed this on to the lady who originally posted it over on http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/helloeberybirdie/. With all the bad stuff one reads on the Internet it’s great to know that one can also help a total stranger.

  4. Peiper, all I can say is she seems just as spry and healthy as … as my mother-in-law, who is busy running her rental properties at age 72.

I haven’t actually talked to her yet since I slipped that into her mailbox with a ‘thank you’ for her card and Christmas tip. This was a recent reunion, the routes were ‘adjusted’ on Nov. 12, and it wasn’t until she was out with her parrot a few weeks later that I made the connection.
