Merry Christmas, BMEWS!
Drew - oldest son & family are here for Christmas on a PCS marathon of visiting family as they trek towards the Great Plains (hee, hee, hee - winter in the Great Plains - should be fun). He calls my hubby’s setup - yeah, you always mess things up.
He buys the ‘newest’ box system and does not understand when someone starts ‘in the biz’ - you don’t go to buy a box. Ever.
Um, what?
Oh, I think you’re talking about hi-fi vs. boomboxes. Ah so desu ka.
No I’m talking about sound systems vs home theater in a box speakers. I know my hubby is looking at a new one - but of course his is high end and so far only one store has only one that is even close.
He does his computer building, his network setup and his own sound system for the stereo, tv and dvd.
I guess I did not make that clear at all.
MERRY CHRISTMAS, ONE AND ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Drew - a Merry Christmas to you and your family. Today, Christmas Eve day, my son, grand-daughter & I had our Christmas and I am writing this as I have a prime rib roasting in the oven with a yorkshire pudding to be made shortly...........My son is divorced so he & his ex trade Christmas holidays - next year we will have Helena on Christms Day. What a delightful time we have been having today - I am always thrilled with Helena’s joy when she opens her gifts (she is 6 years old). My son gifted me with a sound system for my television - this is because I am hearing disabled and always have my TV turned up to the highest level as I don’t wear my hearing aids around the house - they are too much trouble & virtually useless anyway. He keeps telling me I will blow out the speakers on the TV with the sound up so high. So he brought over & set up this terrific system for me. My younger son is in the Navy, currently stationed in Japan until 2010. He was granted leave for Christmas & is home with his wife in Virginia Beach, VA. Alas, they don’t have time to come out to St. Louis but we have spoken by phone & will talk again tomorrow. So we’ve had our holiday & tomorrow (Christmas Day) will be quiet for me - but that’s ok - I always enjoy quiet time & Matt & Helena will be back again for the weekend..........depending on the weather we will go to the Zoo or the Botanical Garden to see the Christmas displays.
Merry Christmas to all the BMEWSers! I don’t post a whole lot, but I post at a(nother) conservative message board a fair amount. Out of respect for the Skipper’s memory, I try to direct members there to come here and read posts.
To get to the point of the season, my local supermarket (250 yards away--my wife and I use it as a convenience store!) has ahd a couple of promotions that they run at the register. One that was last month was for the Salvation Army--add $2 or $5 to your bill, and the donation would go directly to the SA. I did that for a few. Don’t recall exactly how much money I donated between that and the bellringers, but God The Father knows. That’s exactly how I want it. This month, said supermarket is running a promo for the Greater Capital District Food Bank--add $5 to your bill. Again, I really don’t know how much I donated, but there’s a lot of the coupon books that said supermarket gave out in the pantry . . . See, I figure that, even though I don’t have a lot relative to where I want to be in life, I’ve got a lot more than a lot of other people. God gently reminds me that I should share. (I don’t need the Obamessiah to tell me that.)
Again, may you have the happiest of Christmases.
A wonderful Christmas to all and a great New Year.
Have you ever tried to hang a stocking on a menorah?
A very Merry Christmas to you and yours, Drew!
