  1. God, I’m gonna use the shit outa that lovely word in the near-future. My house water pump crapped out yesterday and the subsequent diagnosis and repair effort was totally embuggered.

  2. Embuggered?

Is this a Prachett-created word? I wouldn’t want to ‘misunderestimate’ Pratchett. I’d never heard the word before this Frost interview.

Kudos to former Pres. G.W. Bush for creating the word ‘misunderestimate’, and all other Bushisms.

  3. It’s a great word, so use it at will.

  4. It’s 5:00 AM, there’s a nasty thunderstorm overhead, and I’m posting about Terry Pratchett.

Only if you were seeking shelter under a tall tree at the top of a hill, while dressed in a copper suit and yelling “all gods are barstards!”

It’s only the past 2 or so years that Pratchett has been diagnosed with Al’s Hammer Disease. So this interview can’t be that old.

I was nearly, nearly expecting Frost to finish off the interview, sit there for a couple seconds, and then start the whole thing all over again. Which would have been funny, an Alzheimer’s joke, though a bit cruel perhaps.

At least we learn from this that TP is still writing, so it looks like Nation isn’t going to be his last work. Good, I need at least 2 more witches tales, another Tiffany aching, and I think it’s high time Captain Carrot was a father ... of a litter of werewolf puppies. Come to think of it, TP has never actually written one of his tales from a troll’s perspective, though Thud! came close. That might be fun. I’d eagerly read the story of Moist Van Lipwig as the new AM tax collector. I don’t care. Just keep writing!

Who, me, a Pratchett junkie? Totally.

  5. I’m thinking this quote must be from ‘Small Gods’…

“He spent years rsearching it,” said Didactylos. “Went out into the desert, talked to the small gods. Talked to some of our gods too. Brave man. He says gods like to see an atheist around. Gives them something to aim at.”

    Werewolf puppies?

Hey Capt. Carrot. Name one of the puppies after Drew…

BTW, Drew, this is a 2008 interview.

I’m embuggered. To see Terry Prachett without his hat.

Now, all subsequent posters have to use ‘embuggered’ in a sentence.

Well? That’s how my old English teacher taught me…
