  1. Proving ONCE AGAIN, the UN is an impotent, counter-productive waste of time and money.

  2. FOC, right except you forgot to add the French who (purposely) screwed up the War, screwed up the negotitions and are now screwing up the peace. Way to go French. And Mr. John ‘I voted for the war, before I voted against it’ Kerry, we should listen to the UN and the French WHY? So that we can be wiped off the face of the earth like Israel is about to be.

  3. But wait… There’s more!

While it said France was prepared to command the enlarged force, it also called for safety guarantees for its soldiers before making further commitments.

  5. Before the meeting, French President Jacques Chirac announced that France would immediately double its 200-strong contingent already in the UN force to 400

Whoa there, Jacques!  Don’t get too crazy there on us!  400 troops out of 15,000...don’t you think you’re sending a bit too much?  /endsarcasm

  7. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060819/ap_on_re_mi_ea/lebanon_israel

Annan said the peacekeeping force would not “wage war” on Israel, Lebanon or Hezbollah militants, addressing a key concern of many countries.

I wonder if they’ll be bringing any guns with them?

What are these greasekeepers going to be doing all day?  Play with themselves? Oh, wait, maybe so.
