  1. Only dogs who are dear to me get put to sleep.  Mad dogs are shot on sight.

  2. Beat me to the punch, Dick.

It would be no bad thing for a new generation of quislings to discover what happened to the first lot, and why.

  3. Further proof regarding the Party of Treason.

  4. "That brought the house down.”

I think those are prophetic words.  Think Edgar Allen Poe.  The madmen bound beneath the political pendulum will be the democrats.

Curiosity thought:  I wonder how many of those democrats ‘pretending’ in this farcical court voted FOR the war in Iraq.

  5. "Conyers...started calling himself “The Chairman”.
Well, with this kind of bullsh*t, Mr. Conyers deserves a title all to himself: “Charmin” John Conyers.

  6. I don’t think President Bush’s poll numbers are down much.  Fox News reported it’s down about 5% since the election and that the poll had a margin of error of 4%.

Conyers is a real piece of work.  He is from Michigan.  He has a bill introduced for Socialized Medicine called “Medicare for All.” Michigan is a gathering spot for Socialists.  They have another Representative named Dingle who is just as bad.

  7. Hear is what a doctor says about Canada’s Socialized Medicine that “Chairman Conyers” wants:

Interesting subject......scary that so many want to roll over and let this big inefficient government control their healthcare. Lotsa things I can respond to ..... some to give an explanation, some to reinforce what has already been said.
As far as the $1.50 bandaids, or $8 aspirins, or any other “overpriced” items IO have one question.......How do you think these hospitals fund the myriads of “charity” or non-funded patients?????

In my ICU at any one time at least 1/2 the patients are “self pays” (not insured).

As far as the Canadian system ...... I’m married to a Canadian (R.N.) have heard many horror sories of lack of/non-rendered services. i.e.:

#1. Sister-in-law (Nova Scotia) gets in a motor vehicle crash (side impact...other driver ran a red light). She has a loss of consciousness at the scene (red flag). Has nausea and vomitting for 2 weeks with headaches (red flag). Can’t get a CT scan for 8 MONTHS ...... at my hospital she would have had one within the first 15 minutes of hitting the E.D..

#2. Wife’s best friend from high school has an 8yo daughter going blind. Local opthamologists says he can’t treat her ..... she needs a pediatric specialist (4 hours away in Halifax, N.S.). Took 6 MONTHS to get in to see this opthamologist. She is already blind in one eye and this is dragging out over a year and no one has given the parents a definitive treatment or diagnosis.

I could go on and on with these NON-TREATMENTS, but the bottom line is: the Canadian system is OK for one if he has a simple cold/flu/sickness......but if you have a major illness or injury you are in dire straights.

I don’t need Big Brother “carrying me”. Anyone in America can get medical attention even if they can’t pay. I see it every day that I’m at work, and there is no difference in the quality of care between the “non-paying” patient and the heavily insured in my experience.

  8. Well I did say it was a doctor’s opinion.  I don’t agree with Doctor Bob on the last paragraph when he says:

“and there is no difference in the quality of care between the “non-paying” patient and the heavily insured in my experience.”

My Colorado friend with bone cancer is being treated differently than if he was uninsured.  I think he might be thinking about the ER.

  9. Z Woof,

The dirty little secret of Socialized Medicine: they want you dead.  Otherwise, you’re just a drag on The Society.  Why should the government pay for the ICU, when it’s cheaper for the family to bury you?

It’s like Social Security, where they hope you die before before you can collect.

  10. These democrats are insane.

  11. You were in a Colorado Hospital, not a Canadian.  In America some of the system, about 50%, is still private.  That’s not good enough for Socialists, they always have to have it all.  If you were in Canada you would still be waiting for your surgery along with Bill Clinton.  Clinton has already had two cardiac surgeries where in Canada I assume you would have to go all the way back to the end of the cardiac surgery line after your first one.

That other Michigan guy Dingle, comes from a long line of Socialists.  His Dad introduced Medicare legislation in 1943 as an amendment to Social Security.  Why don’t those Michigan people wake up and throw these lunatic politicians out of office?

LBJ said, “Medicare was the dying wish of JFK.” You don’t believe that do ya?

  12. This is so Draconian I kind of flipped when the thought came to me.  But what if, as Toast implies, the same goes for stem cell research. - The last thing social security needs is for old people to live longer.

    Ugh.  Perish the thought.
