Conservative leadership has never been so divorced from its supporters
I think I should add something here of interest.
In our most immediate area, at any election from dog catcher to the national elections, it’s the Liberal Democrats, known simply as Lib/Dems, who are out in force spreading the word and passing leaflets and talking to ppl. Hardly ever see anyone from the Labour Party, and can’t think of the last time someone from the Tories (conservative party) stopped by or left anything in the mailbox. The Lib/Dems will even make the effort to pass along info on their latest ideas and efforts locally. They are part of a coalition govt. now in place. Not good. But thing is, they do organize and they do get out there. I don’t see them leading a govt. on their own, and apparently the conservatives don’t have the strength either. Which god help us all, could return Labour to power.

It seems to me that the issue here is how gullible the remaining English are, to people who can read and reason idiots knocking on your door should make little difference but as the poster says, those who work for a living are getting overwhelmed by those who vote for a living. The only answer I can see is either let the system fully crash or give one extra vote for taxpayers who dont work for any form of government (maybe firemen as well) then us few actual productive workers get some control back!

I wish we could have multiple viable parties here; all we have are the R’s and the D’s and the joke of I’s, who are just D’s that don’t want to admit it. Every third party just detracts from one or the other of the two, and lately the R’s see D’s getting votes, so they bend over backward trying to be like them. It used to work pretty well, but this one’s crashing too.
