  1. Thanks for putting in Any Soldier Skipper. That’s the group I send stuff to. You may not always get a response, but its good when you do and you can write them back again. We’ve got troops serving all over the world, not just in sandland. They need your attention too.

The Marines run that Toys For Tots program stateside. Always nice to drop something off there. And of course your local food banks need a hand this time of the year too.

Geez, Americans are so tightfisted and stingy, ain’t that right Jan Englund?

  2. I use Any Soldier too , Drew. Every time I find a few bucks lying around doing nothing, I send something. I’ve gotten a few answers too but I feel just as good knowing some poor grunt can stop scratching sand fleas for a few minutes and take a “smile break.”

Speaking of smiles, I got a good one yesterday. When I went to the grocery store the little guy from the Salvation Army was out front ringing his bell. On impulse, I reached in my pocket grabbed my billfold and pulled out a bill at random. It was a $20. I went ahead and dropped it in and went on in. When I came out 30 minutes later there he stood with a grin that wrapped around his head, bellowing “MERRY CHRISTMAS” louder than ever and clanging that dang bell like nobody’s business. HO-HO-HO ...

    LOL

  3. Skipper, this is the season for giving.
Any Soldier is a wonderful organization.
I love dropping money into the Salvation Army bucket! So does my young one.
On another blog (nameless) we collected over 1000.00 to purchase boxes of cigars to send to the marines.
I enjoy being able to bring a smile to a soldier’s face any time, but particularly during the holidays.
God Bless each and every one of our soldiers, wherever they are!

  4. Yes, I’ve contributed to AnySoldier before also—and just ordered two boxes of Hooah! nutritional bars sent to “Any Soldier”.  See what happens when you plant little seeds, Skipper?  But you know how this works, don’t you, you wascal?
