Canuckistan To Ban Handguns

The government here banned handguns even for target use. What happened to the crime rate I hear you ask? Er it has gone ballistic (sorry poor pun). Gun crime has pretty much doubled.
I realise this will antagonise some folks here but I don’t have a problem with the police knowing what guns I hold. I don’t have a choice though! If I lived in the US I would resent the intrusion. Where I do have a problem is the police in Britain seem more interested in persecuting a home owner for defending his property than convicting the scum who break into peoples homes.
In the US the genie is out of the bottle, and realistically there is no way you could ever introduce the kind of draconian gun laws that exist in Britain. There are just too many guns in circulation and I doubt many people would volunteer to surrender their weapons. I know I wouldn’t. What always amazes me is the liberal bed wetters are always out to find a scapegoat. If Canada allows this nonsense to go through I can see in the long term the break up of the old Dominion into seperate states. There is already pressure in Alberta to join the US. Too much more of this crap and I think the secessionists will come to power.

Well, didn’t the American Revolution begin by the British attempt to disarm the populace after all the strangling taxes were in place? Is Alberta listening?
Toronto police launched a gun amnesty program in November, collecting 261 weapons, including 33 handguns, and more than 1,500 rounds of ammunition.
Damn, they would sure crap their knickers if they came to my house!
