Another “social” conundrum

  1. I think the judge went too far.  Judges seem to delight in the control they can exercise over peoples lives.

I’m getting tired of judges legislating law from the bench.  It’s time the other two branches of government put the brakes on the seeming unlimited power of judges, including the Supreme Court.

  2. The woman and her husband are both pretty good examples of people who probably shouldn’t be raising kids but they already have children so that “cat is out of the bag”. They should be allowed to raise their children the best way they know how unless proof is given that the children are being abused.

However, with that said, the judge had ABSOUTELY NO RIGHT to ban her from a legal habit that has NOT been proven 100% to cause harm. I’m referring to second-hand smoke. There are medical opinions on both sides of the argument and no definitive proof has been brought up yet. People breathe carbon monoxide (the most dangerous component in tobacco smoke) all day from automobile exhausts and other sources. Can the judge say she can’t take the kids out for a drive in heavy traffic? No.

In summation, unless the children are being abused, the government and the courts need to mind their own f**king business. I smoke and have an occasional drink but I never mistreated my kids while they were growing up and if a judge ever decided to dictate rules to me regarding my behavior around my family I’m afraid I’d have to deal out some harsh physical punishment to that judge. Up to and including execution. DAMN! This kind of thing really chaps my ass, Vilmar. Don’t get me riled up like this so early in the AM.

  3. Activist judges: slay them.  Slay them all. They have abrogated their responsibility to be _IMPARTIAL_.  We truly need a simpler method of impeachment for wierdos on the bench.

  4. What I don’t get, is how a relativly minor judge can say an american citizen that is NOT accused of a crime, is not allowed to do something that is legal....

This is like the lady who is not allowed to tell her daughter, (who her ex-lesbian lover apparently did not want at the time of adoption) that the bible says homosexuality is a sin.

Whats even worse, since this usually happens to Joe Schmo who makes 30k ayear if he is LUCKY, they never get to the real courts, so we end up with real minor judges, playing “King of all I survey”

Every year should be a election year for judges.

  5. Divorces get messy though - neither I nor my *spit* ex *spit* may drink in front of the children. That’s what 15+ years of really bad judgement and open alcoholism will get you. Additionally, I do have full custody, and cannot move away from the great peoples’ republic of Illinois without permission in advance from the *spit* ex *spit*. But, on the other hand, he may not leave the boys alone with his abusive parents (as sitters or whatnot) - with whom he *still* resides. Very messy shit, divorce is.

  6. My ex-husband and I have had a few conflicts over “the BOY”, but we’ve worked them out amoungst ourselves. my husband smokes but as long as he’s polite about it-my ex is okay. We use common sense around our son. It looks like common sense was totally absent in the case Vilmar refers to. Accept in EXTREME situations, the children belong to the PARENTS not the STATE!

  7. I don’t agree with smoking in a car with kids in it. I’m a ‘reformed’ smoker for 5 years now but I never smoked around any of my three children. Always went outside away from them or stopped for a soda and smoke on a road trip. It should be their choice when they’re old enough to decide. NOT because they’re stuck in a car with an adult that doesn’t have the sense to know better.

But...it’s also not the business of any activist judge. Activist judges PISS ME OFF.

    There… I feel better now.

  8. Activist(ANARCHIST) judges, if they can’t abide by and follow the constitution of the United States of America, by all means remove them from office and society. Thomas Jefferson had this right, and this is further proof of why we have the second amendment.
