  2. What a dilemna....
The distance from Irans border with Iraq to Baghdad is far shorter than the distance from Iraq to Israel. Iraq had SCUD missiles that were capable of firing from Iraq to Israel. With military technology supplied by Russia and China, Iran has the ability most likely to hit Israel at this point. If they have nuclear warheads,a nuclear warhead dropped on a major Israeli city by Iran will lead to the destruction of the entire middle east( most of the RADICAL sects anyway )by Israel in retaliation for such a bombing of Israel. Personally, it’s MHO that Israel will NEVER let it advance that far- Israel will drop a bomb on Iran first. Talk about a powder keg for WWIII.

  3. I wouldn’t mind seeing Iran’s nuke program stopped - they’re overdue for it anyway - BUT I don’t think that it would be politically good for Bush or the Republicans to do it openly.  The Dems won’t back it unless Iran actually does attack a U.S. target.  I don’t think the Democrats would back direct action if Iran hit Israel and a lot of Republicans wouldn’t go for it either.

Do the Iranians need to be stopped, of course.  The problem is political.  you have the politics of the Mid East combined with U.S. politics.  Bush is scaring a lot of Republicans, who in turn are treating him like a distant relative that they want to avoid and the Democrats/Lefties will oppose any direct action against Iran.

This one is something that should be handled quietly.  The sudden deaths of a handful of key players and perhaps a terrible accident at one of the sites.

Of course if Iran actually does nuke someone..........  toilet_monster

  4. I couldn’t agree more...i think covert operations should be going strong...unfortunately,many people in the U.S. seem to think that the government should have to do full disclosure all the time ,and tell everything in the news, even if it involves National Security. I have long held the belief that the U.S. needs to do major covert operations, that joe blow public does NOT need to know every single thing that goes on behind the scenes. You know...call me stupid, but i have to believe that the powers that be can and will do things to protect this country in as far as National Security is involved...and Iran having Nuke capability IS a National Security issue. It seems a no-win situation anymore in as far as anything the government does for security purposes....people scream bloody murder that they are ENTITLED to know EVERYTHING...NO we are not, not if disclosing something means it can fall into enemy hands and be used against us, to harm our own country and our own people. I am SICK to death of the mentality “I’m entitled”, when these same people are not willing to give one iota BACK to their own country in loyalty.

  6. This may not be a popular view but I am hoping Bush does give the go ahead to drop bunker busters on these maniacs. The way I see it this is going to end in tears one way or another.
The resulting chaos in the worlds stock markets and financial instability from such an action will be very painful, but if we carry on the way we are these loons will send a nuke to Israel or maybe to a US base in Iraq and then what?

I agree with Z woof He isn’t Hitler. They don’t have the industrial might of Germany, but Germany in the 30’s didn’t have the A bomb. If they had developed it I think we would live in a very different world. I am all in favour of subverting the mullahs but I don’t think it will work. They will carry on regardless, because they feel it’s their destiny. I suppose the only saving grace is the Persians and the Arabs detest each other as much as they loathe the West.

I doubt the Israelis will let this matter go on much further but do they realistically have the potential to put a stop to it? They may possess some of the best fighters in the world (F15 & 16’s) but these are not up to the task of carrying the kind of weaponry you need to take out an undeground research facility. For that you need something like a B2 or B52 In any event they would need US approval to fly through Iraqi airspace.

As I see it the answer is to bomb them now in my view and get it over with before it gets really ugly!

  7. We oughta capture his fleabitten arse, then lock him and Saddam together into a steel cage and let the brawl begin.  in_jail  punching  laughing_tv Then sell tthe fight on pay-per TV.

Failing that, we should make damn sure that he has a ”Bermuda Triangle” unexplained mysteroius dissapearance type of experience when he is in route to visit his soulmate and fellow moonbat in Cuba. Good riddance.

Then there are always the two aforementioned B-2s or a giant swarm of cruise missiles with 500KT “care packages” on board.  chasehatchet
