What a totally futile gesture. Who does he think this will hurt? Venezuela used to be one of the better South American countries, but with this lunatic in charge it is heading down the pan. By banning these airlines he will only damage his own economy. I really am mystified as to what Chavez hopes to achieve.
This highlites the ‘egomaniac’ syndrome: if one person is the subject of power, publicity and adulation, s/he tends to go bonkers and self-destruct --Cindy Sheehan, Madonna, Britney Spears are minor, recent examples.

I cannot have this problem, Oink. There are over 3,000 readers here every day who are not hesitant at all when it comes to telling me I am full of
. Which does happen occasionally. Like about every other day, according to some. Those would be the ones who are on my list.

Me thinks this is a perfectly prime example of cutting one’s nose off to spite one’s face.
