Somehow, I think that the more we’ve tried to level the playing field, the worse it’s gotten. I’ve got to admit that’s a gut reaction, but it sure feels right.
Despite an unprecedented level of available communication, the disconnect between the politicians and the People seems huge. I suppose that’s why the Tea Party is getting popular. Business as usual is just making things worse.
I find it illuminating that in this ‘time of Obama’ - once again - ‘proof’ can be found that it is corrupt and greedy business that are behind all the terrible things going on in this country. When, if the President simply required every local, state and Federal employee to ENFORCE current laws - it would all be moot.
I just can’t believe that people can be so stupid as to think that businesses run on a corrupt - steal ‘em and kill ‘em - mantra. Logic and common sense indicates that there would be NO businesses if that were true - as people have the freedom to walk away from the corrupt ones and go find a more service/product and fair competitor.
Politicians and government on the other hand can do anything they damn well please - skim, steal, cheat and lie - and there is almost no recourse. I am tired of people who claim to be conservative who say - Elections are Term Limits. No, that is really incorrect when the Big $$$ can and does twist and distort election after election. Giving We The People the choice between bad and worse. Or none at all.
I think that if the politicians knew it would be two and out, or a 10 year max (to go from local to President) or some such limit - the only people who would run - would be the ones who want to scam the system and those who want to change the system - back to what it was. At least it would be a start back toward - Public Service. And (if I were President) - all Public positions from local to state to Federal - would be banned from being Unionized at all. Ever. Look at the military - put the biggest risk of any single person/job in America protecting every freedom - and not allowed to Unionize at all. But every single ‘boneheaded’ bureaucrat from the teachers to the LEOs to the IRS morons - are unionized and protected from accountability and from their actual employers - We The People.
It is obvious with how quickly ‘rookies’ assume the DC mantra/position - that experienced people aren’t necessary but rather most of the problem.
America has been twisted, distorted and step-by-step changed from We The People/of the people, by the people and for the people to The Administration uber alles.
I realized this soon after reading Atlas Shrugged.
Major players have been in charge since they days of Teddy Roosevelt.
But they all let us play” pretend we count” so as not to cause their downfall.
