Never prepared enough is the answer most of us will have.
She should have just kept driving. Or called building security from her cellphone in the car. Something, anything.
“If it feels bad, don’t do it.”
Glad this one turned out Ok.
I’d have never gotten out of the car between two larger vehicles - unless it was a busy parking lot. First mistake. She should have left the lot or just kept moving around it in her car - while dialing 911 on her phone.
Never get out - many times I do not take the stairs (better health wise) for the very reason they are less used and can be bad ambush spots. I am ultra high alert in parking garages, night time and in areas where I really don’t know well.
I however just took an hour long by-pass into deleting my Amazon account - oh well I really never used it much and mostly used for a ‘wish list’ on the Internet.
And that is what I love about sites like this - I learn the truth about the people, places and businesses I do business with - or NOT.
We all make mistakes, sometimes they are fatal. We want to assume the best about our fellow man when we should assume the worst. every murder statistic is some one who made a mistake.
The item that turned the corner for my wife learning to shoot was when her daughter dated a guy who began making threats. It scared her so bad she decided she feared him more then guns, and being alone, miles from town was not a comfort to her. For being legally blind, she has become a very good shot. I’ve got her shooting a wheel gun regularly. I like it for her because if it misfires, another squeeze brings up a fresh round. No fiddling with the action. Besides, it gives me an excuse to buy more guns.
She may have made a mistake by letting herself become isolated where she couldn’t see the man, readily escape him, or be seen by other people, BUT when it came to the confrontation, she kept her wits and drove him off with nothing but attitude. Lady, you’ve got a bigger pair than most of the guys I know. There are several lessons to be learned here, only the first one is about the mistake.
