What the MSM forget to mention

  1. It still sickens me to read that.

While some of the analysis is off (they take Khruschev at his word in spite of it being shot to pieces about what he hoped to gain with the Cuban Missile Crisis, for instance), it is mostly true and PAINFULLY powerful.

France was forced to learn painfully in 1914 and 1942 that the only cure for Dishonour is Blood and Scorched Earth.

We were forced to learn that lesson in 1898, 1917, 1942, and 1952.

How sad that we have forgotten it.

An apocalyptic, nuclear tyranny cannot be negotiated with, cannot be trusted, CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO EXIST.

And the only way to rectify that is to burn it out.

    We all cry “Never Again.”

But it always happens again, doesn’t it?

I wish I could type up a list, but it just sickens me so.

I only hope we can find a time to revenge ourselves and the dead on Fidel and his co-conspirators before it is too late.

  2. Well said. But Raul will have to live past 2012 for that to happen. Meanwhile, expect the not slow, not fast, but half-fast occupant of Pennsy Ave to grovel. I think I should get Pepto Bismol by the gallon jug. He makes me heave.

  3. Our failure to support those we enlisted and trained was shameful.  The American Thinker essay is very powerful on this point.  The governing class seems to feel they owe nothing to anything but reelection. I was eleven at the time of the invasion, and though I know that what was done was wrong I refuse to take responsibility and say that I or most Americans “Owe” for what we had no control over.

We abandoned South Vietnam, that was wrong.  I was old enough to vote for some of the politicians that failed to honor our commitment.  From that standpoint I might bear some of the responsibility even though I was in favor of supporting the South with whatever means necessary.

There ought to be a statute of limitations on national guilt.  Nations do not act from moral considerations and for the US to do so unilaterally only works when we are undivided and strong enough to deal with the consequences.  Our moral position, I should say the moral position of the political classes, has been drifting leftwards ever more rapidly from the Presidency of FDR.  And what the left feels we owe, and who we owe it to, is so much different from the way I see it that there is no compromise.

I am afraid it will take a national disaster on the scale of WWII or the Great Depression to change things.  And even then I wonder if we would set things right.

  5. It wouldn’t surprise me in the leas if Президент Оба́ма makes a sudden trip to Cuba to walk the shoreline of the Bay of Pigs.

I know this is Comrade Chavez, not Raul. But you see the point. Бара́к Хусе́йн Оба́ма meets and breaks bread with our ENEMIES, and shuns our allies. He’s still a Community Organizar alright. Of the other side.

  6. WTF has happened to us? How did we get here? And when do we take it back? This is beyond insane, and I feel the heat in my veins and the cold in my heart.

  7. Someone forgot to ask the Cuban ex-patriots in Miami what they think of this.  I was stationed at the NSG Station in Homestead in the 70s and the Cubans civilians working at the site would only contemplate talking with the Casto bros if they were in a coffin. With lots of bullet holes in them. Lots.  The generations born after coming here may have a different outlook, but I can’t believe grandma and grandpa would let them accept the current regime with open arms. But our Glorious Fearless Leader and all the mushy minions that love him will grovel at the feet of tyrants and murderers.  Scuse me while I go barf.
