1. My youngest daughter actually ran from the indoor range the first time due to the noise at a crowded range. We allowed her to work herself up to being able to remain inside. Then we allowed her to pick when she shot the first time. Now she is a much, much better shot than I am. She still doesn’t like the noise at the ranges sometimes - but then neither do I.

   For grins - a friend had an AK 74 (he’s a newbie Marine with his first paychecks) and I shot it the last time we went out. Not a bad little rifle.

   Wish we had money - we’d get her concealed carry. My older daughter is po’d as we went in the d-i-l to buy our son an AR 15 (three Christmases ago - when we had an income) and we bought the youngest daughter a .22 but haven’t gotten her a gun. We didn’t expect to go belly up so damn fast.

2. As if this weren’t sinister enough, R., a scholar of Islam who wrote incendiary books and articles and often appeared on cable TV news shows, was singled out: Our offices had been ransacked top to bottom—my laptop was missing, as were many of R.’s most sensitive documents

   Does anyone have a clue who “R” might be?
