WEEKEND WOMEN … CLARA BOW ….. Denise Milani below the fold

 

1. Ahh peiper,

   What is it about the old pin-up girls?

   I’m not too familiar with Clara Bow. I knew the name and face, but otherwise, nada.

   She reminds me of ‘the girl next door’, especially in that rocky beach photo. She reminds me much of an actual ‘girl next door’ that I knew, though by the time we would have been interested in exploring the possibilities of inserting tab A into slot B, we were no longer neighbors… (sigh)

   Denise Milani is just the ‘slut next door’. Now, I doubt that’s actually true, but compared to Clara Bow… well, face it, a certain amount of class has been lost over the years. I also fault color vs. B&W photography. I still do think B&W photography allows greater artistry.

   Mind you, I’m basing this on looks and attitude as projected on camera. I know nothing personally about either of these women.

2. A lot of class has been lost over the years. There’s hardly any decorum anymore. The old Hollywood knew something about ‘glamour’ that’s been lost.
   Re. Bow. I thought she was great altho a sad story.  Like so many, she began drinking and was a mite promiscuous it must be said. But not as bad as some reports had it.

   Re. Denise Milani.  She might well be a very nice lady for all I know. Up to a week ago I hadn’t heard of her. I just included her below the fold for ... gee. Right now I don’t know why.  Perhaps for the folks who like that.  For me personally, large boobs never did it but from what our own sex seems to endlessly talk about, some can’t see past that.
