3. I am sorry, but I am going to repeat this again and again and again: victory by definition is not achieved until the enemy’s will and ability to make war are completely destroyed.

   Translation: This is like the Western Allies declaring victory after Vimy Ridge, ignoring the millions of German soldiers in arms.

   The fact is that, even if we HAVE mopped up the last of the organized milita (BIG IF), we still have the Iranians, Syrians, and Saudis just across the border. And does anybody remember what the Moroccans did after the Spanish destroyed their irregular army at Ceutan, what the Red Vietnamese did after the French did likewise, and what they did AGAIN following the death of the VC after Tet?

   That’s right: they committed the regulars.

   It ain’t over till its over. And it ain’t over yet.
