  1. All this just to get gov’t permission to buy a gun?
Man, I’m glad I live in a free state.

  2. I wish I did. But as I said at the outset, I’m going through this process to see how the system works. As part of that, I think it’s smart that I learn what rules and regulations apply. I know that I WILL have to strictly adhere to all the laws, so I want to see if the government does the same. Yeah, that’s me, Mr. Naive.

  3. Well, it’s an interesting experiment… Keep us appraised as to how it progresses.  At day 31, do you intend to walk back to the office you applied to, point out the statute showing “30 days maximum” and ask them what your option for redress of this particular grievance is?

  4. I’m giving them 33 days from when I had my fingerprints done. That was a bit more than a week after I handed in the forms. And the fingerprints were done digitally, so they were delivered to everyone before I even left the office. That gives them about 45 days, which is 50% more than allowed for, so that shows “patience” on my part. But it’s also 10% more than “30 days” from when I handed in the last of the forms, in case someone wants to interpret “application” in that manner.

Then I’ll walk into the lions den and ask about redress. What I like best is that I found the law at the NJSP.org web page.
