U.S. lawmakers urge Google-DoubleClick deal scrutiny

Well, I suppose most of the bloggers here won’t be on my side on this issue.  Actually, I don’t have much of a side but this.

This action by US senators follows right on the heels of an argument made no more then two weeks ago (if that) by the EC.  The Europee-on Commission.
These pinheads are almost always after companies and especially American ones.  They appear to me to be 21st century Robin Hoods but minus the romance.
If they had their way, every six pack of Bud would have to have two bottles of Millers, just to make things fair.

I just do not like the EU or their agencies and even tho I may be very prejudiced and wrong headed, that’s how I feel about em.
I also feel the same way about these senators, and honestly believe they are in touch (really close touch) with the EC.

Well hell I may as well say it out loud and risk additional flaming.
The last trust busting politician America had that did honestly believe in helping our country was TR.
Now if he came back and was critical of Google and DCLK, I’d buy it.  Because I’d know he wasn’t in anyone’s pocket and especially foreign.

  1. My two cents is that the internet is essentially infinite in size, so claiming that one or two companies have a disproportionate slice of the market is kind of silly. There are millions of blogs, each with a selection of blogads. There are many different kinds of search engine too, so you do not have to use Google.

Google has been better than the others with advertising, at least until now. I saw an ad on TV for ask.com, and I’ve taken to using dogpile.com more and more. I don’t think anybody can honestly claim Google has a near monopoly. And since the internet is international, I think the US and the EU should butt the F out.
