Unemployment Makes You Crazy

 

1. This tactic is common in Ireland.

   I was talking to a couple of “lads” near the local post office recently. The subject of the “dole” came up and I asked them if they were “on the dole”. The one guy said they were but they had to get off because new legislation mandated they take “courses” or get assigned “menial jobs” like picking up litter 4-hours a day if they were to continue getting the dole.

   The guy said that either attending training classes or working would ruin their “social lives”.

   So they both managed to get “disability certs” which switched them from “unemployed” to “disabled”.

   They were happy because they could go about their business, get almost as much in weekly handouts and the government was thrilled because it dropped the unemployment roll by 2 people.

2. We kind of knew that this was coming (joblessness) - we just didn’t expect to be 2 years into it - so we put a bit into savings. We just hit a touch of it for our property tax. But I have had 38 years experience of living on next to nothing - so other than our mortgage - we live bare bones.

   I believe that the worst is beginning to happen - and that is people expecting to be paid - whether by a job or by Uncle Obama.

   And that needs to be stopped - but no spineless Boehner had no guts and went along with the bogus tax ‘cut’ and unemployment extension - America’s current state of affairs is not all Uncle Obama’s fault - too many Republicans have been too gutless or intentional cooperative in this destructive un-Constitutional attack on America.
