  1. That really does look exceedingly sweet. Looks like something I need to buy for myself. Darn you! Darn you all to heck! Where am I gonna get the money I must now find? downer

  2. Uh-oh… more gun porn… quit it!

    Must.Buy.More.Guns.

Hell, I can’t buy any ammo. Sodoama has caused a run on common rounds like .38 and 12-gauge.

Eh gads! Even Wal-Mart is sold out of 12-gauge. .38? Pray for it…

  3. chepearthandirt.com has 2 kinds of .38 for $40 per box. TOTAL RIP OFF, but it’s in stock. $12 is a fair price. $20 is high. $40??? GFY.

Even powdervalleyinc is out ... “… We currently have over 50 million primers on backorder. ... Once we begin receiving more primers from the manufacturers and are able to begin filling current backorders we will update the website.”

The “good” news is that the shortage should begin to go away by next fall. And prices will fall a lot too. So if you can hold out, or use what you have stashed away ...

  4. Blake .. never mind the money. At some point you’ll have it BUT ...
how’d ya like to be here in this socialist paradise where you might have the money but not be allowed to own the gun?  Now that’s frustrating!

Drew ... man that is one pretty weapon.  Why, it looks so damn good it makes one wanna go out and shoot someone. Uh .. I mean something.

  5. I’m glad the looks appeal to you Peiper. I think it’s a bit odd looking myself, but it looks better in person than in pictures. But I don’t care! It’s a pocket pistol designed to save your life, built so that even the smallest person can hold it and shoot it accurately when necessary, and chambered with enough bullet to get the job done. Looks don’t matter at that point.

It is a very well made gun too. You can tell just by holding one. Everything fits together nice and tight. No rough spots or bits of casting flash or mould lines or anything. Ruger did an excellent job with this one ... and the whole gun is built by robots, with no hand fitting. For 150 years revolvers have been built by hand, because the internal parts have a very complex functional relationship that can be messed up by one part being 0.001” too small, or some angle on a bit of metal being a tenth of a degree off. So highly skilled and experienced labor ($$$) has always been needed. Ruger figured out all the numbers and built precision machinery, so this pistol goes together properly just by putting the right parts in place. And that will drive the cost down a whole lot. Imagine a $600 MRSP pistol that sells for $400 that works better than a $900 pistol. They’re going to take over the market. I expect the LCR line to expand shortly, and eventually take over their whole double action pistol line. It truly is revolutionary evolution. Another reason why their stock has doubled in price, and they just announced a 300% increase in dividends.

  6. Many years ago my aunt sent me a book from the US by Jim Carmichel. It was all about the modern centrefire rifle and he went into some detail about Bill Ruger’s products. He was an innovator who cut costs, but still made an excellent product. Things like lost wax casting for receivers which saved a fortune in machining costs. That gun is a work of art Drew and very good value for money in my view.

  7. My (now getting elderly) Ruger Security-Six has an excellent trigger pull.  Stainless is even worse, for smoothness, than regular steel, so when I first got it I busily did hundreds of dry-fires and smoothed it considerably, and since then it has had a lot more than 500 rounds through it.

  8. My mother recently got her handgun permit, and my father found a Beretta U22 Neos for her.  He also put a red-dot sight on it.  Well, they went shooting Wednesday and Thursday nights.  My father said that he may have to get a red-dot sight as well--she “cleaned his clock” (his words) with it.  My father has a Ruger Mk 1 Bull Barrel that I’m sure he was considering tossing while my mother made him look as if he needs to use a shotgun in a gunfight.

I’d like to see my mother shoot my father’s Redhawk.  Hell, I’d pay to watch that one.

    That LCR looks sweet.
