Torture

 

1. Far as I know, none of those at Gitmo wore uniforms, served a recognised national government, had an identified chain-of-command or conformed to any other provision of the Genevea Convention.

   Leagally, we would have been justified in executing them on site of capture as spies or guerillas.  According to the Laws of Land Warfare, as taught to me at Ft. Benning, Ft. Sill, and Ft. Polk, such safeguards are extended only to recognised soldiers, wearing distinctive uniforms or markings, who serve an internationally recognised national government.

   We should stop referring to these individuals as “insurgents” and label them more accurately as “fascist “thugs”, “fascist bandits”, or “criminal elements of the murderous fascist conspiracy”.  I’m sure other titles may come to mind.

3. Senator Chuck Hagel (R-NE) is all over this issue because of the TV exposure.  My Mom, a Democrat no matter what, says, “Chuck Hagel seems to be a really nice Republican.” So I guess he knows what he is doing.

4. Whine, whine.  The democrats want to shut down Gitmo.  What fools.  Do they have an alternative plan for what to do with these thugs?  No.

   One of the best lessons I ever learned in my life was that if I was going to complain, to be sure I had an alternative that was better than what I was complaining about to offer after I finished whining.  That lesson has served me well in my life.  Either I do not whine, or when I do, I am taken seriously.  The democrats are so full of hot air it’s a wonder half the senate doesn’t float away.
