Tea Party? The man supported Obama for election. Don’t hold your breath.
Yeah, but somehow I think he’s changed his mind. I don’t think he’s an Obot any longer.
And I take back that “future hero” stuff. I don’t think he has any great victories in his history, nor the people’s love the way that MacArthur did. He’s done what he was told to do, but hasn’t been much more than just a placeholder. Of course, I could be utterly wrong about this, because I only know about him through the media’s filter that precludes any soldier from being a national hero or having greatness. That doesn’t fit their agenda, so it isn’t reported on.
I am on both sides of this issue. While I read the story - I fail to see exactly what was so horrid (most were quotes from his subordinates and in non-public places) - and would we not be surprised to find (in retrospect, that it was one specific subordinate) - and of course there are two sides to Mr.Hastings & RS VS how could McChrystal even do it? Obamabot - indeed. So it all comes down to - whose telling the truth and whose not. Sorry but I will land with the 4 Star General before I land with RS, the NYTs and Obama.
What I have to know and hope comes out soon - was McChrystals Obamabotness part of why he accepted and/or constructed these horrid ROEs and this debacle (remember liberals are nothing but about ‘the ends justify the means) or is he really that stone cold stupid that he’d hang himself and leave his troops out to dry?
I don’t think so - some investigative mind needs to do the research - something just does not jell right - and with liberals - I still fall on the side of the 4 Star General.
BTW, my son will be happy to be working under General Petraeus again. Good Man.
Firing General McChrystal is simply another example of ‘governance by temper tantrum’. No policy, fact or logic can deter the President’s ego.
As Wardmama4 points out, the remarks made by the General were unfortunate and sarcastic, but do not measure up to undercutting the President’s policy.
