the owner can obviously afford to have us here.”
Love the mindset here. So, from each according to what? To each ?
And what the heck was a cellar door doing left unlocked in a property like the one written about? Jeesh!
“It’s much better when squatters move into a rich person’s home like this, as the owner can obviously afford to have us here.”
Wow.... that sounds like a quote from the crowds of the French Revolution, right before they started lopping off the heads of the aristocracy. Or the Russian People’s Courts as they took over the Czar’s palaces.
Really dangerous to let that start......
Peiper, your home is lovely. Drop dead gorgeous, with enough charm to choke a pony. Damn shame the inside doesn’t work as good as the outside looks.
No crime if entry is not forced? Bullshit. Nobody leaves their door open when they go away ... for years. Therefore the mere act of turning the unlocked (yeah right) doorknob is “breaking”. Forced entry.
Turn these scabs out at the point of the bayonet. The old school triangular kind, not the wimpy little hunting knife kind used these days. And use it as necessary. Force the squatters to do all the cleaning and repairs necessary to make the place immaculate, then send them off to jail.
Squatting is not illegal if entry is not forced and no criminal damage is caused to the premises.
The paper said the former homes were now a clutter of amateur art, acoustic guitars, overflowing ashtrays and the mess from the three dogs.
As someone who took over the property belonging to someone who has dogs they never took out, I can attest to the fact that dog droppings and piss have destroyed the carpeting/flooring of this place beyond repair. If people are resposnible for their animals, wouldn’t this be criminal negligence?
Still.. I am assuming that these people are honest, law abiding citizens who work for a living and do absolutely nothing that is not above board? FEH! The newspaper tries to hard to make it look like an artists commune, where peace and love thrive.
I know that to be an alien living in the US, you must have a permanent address, what about Britain? The guy quoted is from South Africa..
Just a few thoughts..
Bill
Bill ... it is really crazy here. and Lyndon can tell ya even more. there isn’t any logic.
I agree with Drew ... but it won’t happen.
