  2. Damn, cat hair in my keyboard!
    Where is that dust off?
Do they not have the Hippocratic Oath?

Posted by Melissa in Texas    United States   05/13/2006  at  12:30 PM

  3. Yeah, yeah, yeah - and so now tell me: What’s so damn great, tolerant, wonderful, warm fuzzy, tofu eating, koolaid drinking (notice THAT contradiction) kumbaya peaceloving economic dazzling equality crapness benefit of: denying medical treatment because of a persons social/polictical view?

And they have the nerve to call conservatives rigid and intolerant. What garbage.

BTW, spent the toddler years of my last two kids going to the ER, finally had a receptionist complain as to why I was in the ER - told her that there is no way to get an Urgent Appointment in the Pediatric Clinic: already booked by 7AM (when you call for same day appointments). Presto, chango - no more tummyaches, colds allowed on the same day appts.
[This is the Army house of Gov care] You can die in the ER (FT Knox, chest pains forced to wait 2 hours), get Aids from the dr (Ft Bragg) and basically all the clinics suck. The only good medicine is in the ER, as they actually do it by the book (which works).

While it took care of me and mine for 30 years, and is our insurance until death - I will not now nor ever support a Government run/managed healthcare system. They stink - while Germany’s use to run ok - you still waited forever for surgery and usually had to check out AMA - cause once they got you into a hospital they used keeping patients as a cheap way to pay for all of the other crap.

Falling off my soapbox now. . .
    soapbox

  4. i dont think there is much wrong with our nhs, or should i say wasent, till you get flooded with imigrants, which would take its toll on any system, theres a pot right you put money into to the pot every week, you get sick your covered, thats cool, till the pot is empty, then you can just fuck off, in the states its an insurance policy right? same shit, but your insurance policy covers you, dont go with the pot system those mexicans will cane you, i dont think its hypocrits its more of a left wing way of thinking, whitch is fine while they are all working and filling the pot, what happens to the uk when im the only one working and have to suport 1000+ shitheads where ever they came from, still i should earn enough from my goat on a poll (evenings only) just incase the taxman reads this, to cover my ass and his (billy the goat)were with BUPA anyway, confused

  5. this has nothing to do with the NHS, may be we should take that point of view down in iraq, like they throw rocks and petrol bombs at us, we shoot them then help them? the hypocrits rolleyes

  6. i think you will find that the NHS will not do surguary on you if you are over weight, any surgen will not risk his reputation or your life, whats the point? fat smoker drinker
    gets run over they would try to save your life, even though the odds where against you, be cause of the above it would be harder for you to live, i dont think the UK has decended into some kind of nazi state where some shithead decides if you do get an operation or not, no matter what your point of view is, thats bollocks, and if it is true wich is unlikley, then we should make sure hook hand dont get any aid from the NHS;
    this is bollocks blank stare

  7. Wait until our insurance companies begin trying this out over here.

Posted by Kirk    United States   05/13/2006  at  04:37 PM

  8. Kirk - forget that, they are already doing this - the insurance morons involved with ‘healthcare’ who are neither (medically trained nor caring) play the odds. And believe me if the odds are ‘agin you - pray alot ‘cuz the ins is going to delay the ‘decision’ until you are dead.

While I agree the illegals, social assistance recipients and drug users are quite to blame for a lot of the ills of the American healthcare system - I believe it would still be useable/affordable if the lawyers and insurance morons had never gotten into the fray.

Trust the fleecers who see all of live as a way to steal more money to defile and destroy anything they get involved with.

  9. Mr Atkinson sounds like an unpleasant crank,… Even unhip old bigots need replacement hips.

I can’t believe that no one else has commented on this writer’s journalistic impartiality ( or amazing lack of it).

  10. Piper, I agree. Did my pre-natal and delivery with German doc/hospital. Only waited once, the care was good and very little angst compared to similar system here in US. With my second child, even civilian docs (paid for by my mother) dismissed symptoms which finally was revealed as a food allegy that because it was ignored for so long led to asthma and so on and so on. Now with our ‘gov’ insurance, I can’t get a foot in the door with most local docs. It’s disgusting. So we’ve cast aside most ‘preventative’ type care, because it just isn’t an affordable option for us.

I just have seen way too many down sides to tout it as better. And when you attack a system and bind it up with bureauacracy and threatened lawsuit - a lot of good people (dr, nurses, admin) will leave or not sign on - to avoid the stress/financial mess. And those who want to make a buck will flock. Gov systems are not about caring, doing the best for the people, being efficient or good and certainly not about being the best. It is about making a good fast buck with less a chance of ever being fired or held accountable.
