The Italian Kerfuffle

  1. If I am not mistaken, the most salient
point is that it was dark.

How in the hell are the guys supposed to
see the difference between a speeding car and a speeding car bomb?

And there was an Italian at the wheel. Geez,
that ought to end the debate.

There are still plenty of communists in
Italy. Perhaps 20%. This is only lip service
    for them.

It will be interesting to see what the
reaction will be from the government.

A government that has changed hands some
50 plus times in less than 5 decades.

It’s funny, I was on a food kick today on
my site. Italian food was prominent.

They did invent ice cream. So I won’t
    write ‘em off yet.

  3. You put it perfectly, Vilmar.

  4. Look, I lived in Sardinia Italy for four years and traveled extensively in Italy in my 20-year Air Force career and I can say, without a doubt that they were driving like a bat outta hell, because ALL Italians drive that way. I never met one that didn’t. She might have thought they were driving slow because slow to them is less than 80. It’s just totally absurd that she would claim the US attacked her. She’s insignificant to us, she’s a communist and just wants to start shit.

  5. Because-----simple as that----because.

Hey, you’re categorizing him as a “victom.”

A commie victim just adds a little color to the mixing palette.

  6. What friendly fire?
The car was signaled to slow down and it didn’t so our troops fired.
Sounds pretty cut and dried to me.

The fault lies with the driver-not with the troops.
I’m sorry about the fatality but that’s what happens when one tries to hotfoot it through a military check point.

as for the former hostage-everytime she opens her piehole she sounds more and more like an islamofacist cuddling commie twit-but I repeat myself.

  7. Oh, I was just wondering if you knew first
hand about things like ... friendly fire and
hell, or if your vast knowledge of war was
    learned from watching movies, OCM.

  8. Vilmar,
I concur...completely.Your post in reference to this is WHY I finally registered on this site.Tonight on evening news...the reporters went on and on about how so many American’s are *wondering how something like this could have happened*. Not one person I know has questioned this incident as anything more than what it is. A war zone, wrong place, wrong time, AND due diligence was not paid.Unfortunately, too many people believe mass media and everything they say, when many times the truth is slanted per whatever party their (media) powers that be lean towards. If WWII were fought today, with the media the way that it is currently, Hitler would be made out an innocent world conquerer, being picked on by Imperialist Oil hungry Americans. Thank GOD we have American soldiers who uphold force protection rules. Just my humble opinion.

  9. I am distantly related to a.l.t. through a legal device called a “Marriage Certificate.”
As a former Marine, I believe that each Marine’s primary duty is to accomplish the mission.  If you are posted at a security check point, and encounter belligerent behavior, casualties caused by such belligerent behavior are not “friendly fire.” If a Marine accidently shot another Marine during the episode, that would be a friendly fire casualty.
The driver of the vehicle in this case is just as responsible for his own demise as you would be guilty for fleeing a police car attempting to pull you over.  Each Marine must perform his duties to protect himself, his fellow Marines, and the U. S. Constitution.  A dead Marine can perform none of these duties.

  10. Old Cat-
    SEMANTICS nuthin’!
    Try apples and oranges.
    Railyardmurv hit it exactly!

Oh yeah and full disclosure-"Railyardmurv" is “Mr.” Annoying little Twerp-but I’d agree with him on this issue even if he wasn’t
    grin
