  1. Um, my superpowers must be waning. I can’t read a 1000 page document that hasn’t even been written yet. But hey, our elected representatives voted on it anyway!

Voting against this claptrap were: Lamar Alexander, Wayne Allard, George Allen, Kit Bond, Jim Bunning, Conrad Burns, Richard Burr, Saxby Chambliss, Tom Coburn, Thad Cochran, John Cornyn, Michael Crapo, Jim DeMint, Elizabeth Dole, John Ensign, Michael Enzi, Charles Grassley, Orrin Hatch, Kay Bailey Hutchison, James Inhofe, Johnny Isakson, Jon Kyl, Trent Lott, Pat Roberts, Rick Santorum, Jeff Sessions, Richard Shelby, John Sununu, Jim Talent, Craig Thomas, John Thune, David Vitter from the GOP, and Robert Byrd, Byron Dorgan, Ben Nelson, Debbie Stabenow from the DNC.

  2. provided they pay back taxes, learn English and have no serious criminal records
Of course, if you can’t afford the back taxes then you can get waivers provided you can prove you exist.  If you’re older than 6 we just can’t expect you to learn English and will therefore be allowed a waiver.  And serious criminal record means rape or worse.

  3. Illegal immigrants who have been in the country five years or longer would be allowed to stay and apply for citizenship, provided they pay back taxes, learn English and have no serious criminal records.

Although the whole thing sucks, this part about paying back taxes is bad, real bad.  If they have to pay back taxes, that means they will fall under the tax laws of each year they’re paying these back taxes.  People, their is a good chance that if an illegal with a family files, he/she will most likely receive Earned Income Credit (EIC).  A couple filing joint or head of household with 3 children can earn up around $35,000 per year and get EIC.  When a person gets EIC, that means they paid no Federal Income Tax and they additionally to getting free money back from the government.  Since the illegals are mostly picking fruits and vegetables, and doing the other jobs Americans don’t want, I seriously doubt any of them earned over $25,000 per year.  If they did, I doubt they will ever report it because they will be advised on what to do in order to get EIC.  The US Treasury is going to get a serious reaming by this.  The American Taxpayers would be better off if the illegals didn’t pay back taxes.  Think about it.

  4. Ummm, guys, Bush seems to be reconsidering the proviso on the back taxes.
Think they would waive ours? wtf

  5. No Melissa, of course not. Look at Paris Hilton going to jail for driving crap - yet people who cross our borders (illegally), live in an apartment, house whatever (illegally - because I’ve lived all over the US - it isn’t a cakewalk to rent even, much less buy - which we know they aren’t so basically they are lying to obtain a residence or a legal citizen is allowing them to live with them (illegally)), and obtaining employment and/or services (illegally) but now they have to commit a CRIME to be questionable - seriously what constitutes a crime, if the 3 I mentioned AREN’T ?

You or I not pay taxes, lie on a state form, scam to get healthcare or employment and we are not only front page news we are in court.

Sad that so many in DC want to violate the Constitution and existing laws for a bunch of CRIMINALS.

But, wait since so many of them are - guess it is business as usual in DC.

  6. How about a category that says that the “esteemed douche bags in the Senate (and others!!) who support this treasonous travesty of injustice, thievery, and deceit should be lined up against a wall and shot”?

How about how much I wish that the 3rd plane had hit the Capitol instead of the Pentagon?

  7. Something is out of kilter here. My understanding was that the bill to be voted on was S.1348. This bill was voted on last year and was the Republican Bill. The new bill belongs to Reid with 4 other cosponsers.

They look similar but without going through the whole thing you can’t tell.

  8. It’s worse than we thought. I found this over at Hugh Hewett’s site. None of the bills we have been looking at are what they are talking about.

The draft can be found via Truth laid Bear from the HH site.

  9. And how are you going to prove they’ve been here less than 5 years if there is no documentation of when they came in?

Even the ones you catch AT THE BORDER will be like “I was just running home for some clean clothes. I been here 8 years senor!”

Its pure BULLSHIT. The entire government has SOLD US OUT.

  10. I am convinced the Republicans want the Democrats to stay in power.  We need term limits, the longer the morons stay on capital hill the more they look and act the same.
not only is there no longer any loyal opposition, there is NO opposition.

  11. I e-mailed both of my Texas Senators.  Reminded them who got them into office and if either or both of them voted for this loser, they would facing retirement in the next election cycle.

This is real easy.  Secure the border and enforce employer sanctions on those hiring illegal aliens.  A 3rd possible action is to prosecute any alien using a false SSN for identity theft.

Don’t tell me about breaking up families.  They came here illegally.  It was their decision to risk deportation.

Just enforce present laws and I believe that the majority of the illegals would seplf-deport.  If there are no jobs, why stay?

  12. Do i still need a green card? smirk

  13. Why break up families when we can just deport their family along with them?

Posted by Elliott    United States   05/21/2007  at  05:16 PM

  14. Elliot, some people think that the children of illegals who are born in the United States are automaticly citizens. The constitution extends that right only to those who are subject to the laws, not to law breakers. I agree with you, we should send them all back.
I also think that if we had a supreme court rather than supreme injustices of the court, that we cound send back all the ones previously granted amnuttsy.
