  1. "Current and former”? I don’t see the point of that. “Current and prospective” makes sense.

No, “You can’t hire a chemical engineer to do the work of a software engineer.” but you can hire a recent IT graduate or somewhat under-experienced programmer and train them. That solves your BS “Talent crisis” right there. Try looking long term for once (instead of letting today’s stock market price drive your company) and pressure the school systems to turn out people more in tune with your needs.

And I’ll bet that chemical engineer could learn to be a programmer if you both were willing. Get over the pigeon holing; most people can learn to do many many things.

I have exactly ZERO sympathy for these whiny ass businesses that cry forever about not being able to hire people with the right skills. They’re worse than retailers at Christmas. Boo friggin hoo. The truth is that they have no interest in building or nurturing their own workforce; they want an utter perfect match candidate who is also willing to do the job for less pay than the previous person in the role. Once the project is done that person gets tossed like a dirty diaper. Well, gee, to effin bad.

I see no real need for America to compete for the best minds in the world. They’re right here. Rebuild the old employer/employee trust relationship, pay people what they’re worth, and stop overpaying management.

  3. Read the bill?  WTF????  They don’t read the bills they produce.  This one weighs in at more than 300 pages.  Would you wade through that much lawyer generated crap?  That’s why the office holding goons hire a good staff and the staff members wade through the mindless dribble that their bosses produce.

  4. Check this out, France says no to mass legalizing.  grin http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/worldnews.html?in_article_id=456666&in_page_id=1811&ito=1490

  5. Yeah it was refreshing to see Mitch McConnell on the Sunday show (yech, that Clinton guy George Stephonopolis - my mil was here, I plead temporary insanity) - dancing around a straight answer and finally fessing up to the fact that NO ONE HAD READ THE DAMN THING.

When Kennedy and Bush get together - American citizens get screwed. Bush is out in 18 months - Senator Ted ‘Abridgetoofar’ Kennedy needs to resign.

This bill is full of crap and what is the point? They don’t enforce the friggin laws they passed on ILLLEGAL ALIENS in the past, why pretend to do something NOW?

No Amnesty, No Anchor babies, Deport ‘em as you find ‘em, Fine businesses for hiring ‘em, Fine colleges and school systems and welfare and ss offices that give ‘em bennies, take all monies required to deport ‘em, try ‘em, jail ‘em and that they got crimially from social services out of their country of origin’s ‘financial aid’ payments and - Close the Border.

Personnally I’m a shoot on sight type - but given that people in America don’t see the ‘real’ danger of these Criminals - I will settle for the previous paragraph. We are either being sold out by ‘our’ elected peoples or this Democrat ‘overwhelming majority’ Congress is doing this intentionally to destroy the Republicans chance of holding office.

Either way American citizens are the ones getting screwed.
