1. Its a worldwide epidemic going back to before WW1 basically marxism it appeals the those who want something for nothing and when its killed the host everyone is reduced to serfdom.

2. Ditto for above - but in America we (use) to have checks and balances - so simply blaming the gimmie entitlement/low information voter class - isn’t completely the truth - Congress, the Supreme Court and that ‘5th Column’ - sold us down the river too. And they should know better.

3. Yahbut… the “multitude of fools” elected the congresscritters that sold us down the river. They also elected the presidents that appointed the SCOTUS justices, supported (or at least enabled) the giant corporations and media conglomerates that are part and parcel of the problems, and on and on and on…

   How much of this is due to ignorance, how much to apathy, and how much to greed is open for debate. There is little doubt, however, that they all play a role.
