I was thinking that it looked like a dry run (no pun inteneded) to me. Testing how long it took the authorites to respond and what there response was.
What the heck are Iranians doing in UK colleges in the first place? Aren’t they some sort of official enemy at this point?
That is an interesting question. I worked with an Iranian in Texas while I was in college. It was during the hostage crisis. The poor guy caught hell from just about everyone. After talking to him, it turns out he hated the Ayarollahs and that sharia sux. Obama had an opportunity to support those of like mind in Iran a couple of years ago. Instead, he supports the revolutionaries from the Muslim Brotherhood.
This guy could be an ex pat or even claiming refugee status or who knows what.
My current internist (what we used to call ‘family physician’) is Iranian. He fled Iran after the Shah fell. He’s a pretty good doctor. Which is probably why the Ayatollahs would have arrested and executed him. They pretty much went after the well-educated people after the Shah fell.
Next thing you know they be stationed at the local “Bowl-a-Rama looking for fuses on all the black round objects.
Fuse on a round black object.
Egads! I didn’t know they made a movie of this!
“This guy could be an ex pat or even claiming refugee status or who knows what.”
If so then he should be at least grateful enough to GB to restrain his behavior while resident in the host country, and be aware of the appearance he presents. He is a collage student, after all. Isn’t he supposed to be intelligent?
This was a dry run or an intentional tease/bait action. Look at him. The guys face alone conveys “attitude”.
Deport him - for stupidity, if nothing else.
I was referring to how he got in the country. Not what his political feelings could be.
Christopher, I see you find old Soviet spy training film. Very enlighting, yes?
Not sure. Did you, by any chance, mean ‘enlightening’?
Sorry to quibble, but during my ‘time between jobs’ I’m doing some volunteer tutoring at church. Seems a bunch of our late-teen/early-twenty something church members now want their GEDs. It’s usually the same stuff they need tutoring in: math and English. I’m having to explain the difference between there, they’re, and their, for instance. Not to mention two, to, and too. These are kids that grew up texting each other. They have know concept of proper spelling and usage. (yes, I did that on purpose!)
It was an ‘explosive’ training film.
