Actually, the deadline is Monday April 18 this year. I don’t know why ...
That’s what I heard too, but you know what? I don’t believe it. Post offices are open Saturday, so what’s the deal? Do we always get the weekend when Tax Day falls on a Friday?
” (T)he IRS is observing a holiday that is usually only observed in Washington, DC. Emancipation Day marks the day that the Compensated Emancipation Act was signed by President Abraham Lincoln and is observed on April 16.
Emancipation Day is a legal holiday in DC, and public employees are given the day off work. However, because April 16, 2016, falls on a Saturday, it is celebrated on the closest weekday, which is Friday April 15.
This means that public employees such as those that work for the IRS will have April 15 off of work, and so it pushes the tax deadline to April 18, a Monday, which is the next business day.”
I found this at the WGN website, but your blog says the link is blacklisted. My search term was “Tax due in 2016”
Who knew?
What are these Taxes you speak of,some weird music festival band thing?
Taxes is a new kick-ass hallucinogenic designer drug.
I’d say more but I’m participating in a heated discussion between Jimmie Hendrix and Benjamin Franklin about the esthetic merits of brassieres.
