  1. I replace the butter on the outside with mayo. It doesn’t burn as readily as butter, and I think it gives a lighter overall texture to the sandwich.

  2. I read that you should put the mayo on the inside - but I forget the reason. Unless there is a cheddar in there (somewhere) it’s not a grilled cheese sandwich to me.

Did an eggs Benedict yesterday with salmon (instead of ham) w/asparagus on the side - Yum. Since I’m not a big ham lover anyway - might be my go to way to make it from now on. I buy the thinly (usually I can’t even get the slices apart - they are that thin)salmon. Usually make a Salmon Cream - from my daughters Swedish cookbook (available at IKEA). But since I grew up on fresh salmon out of a Montana lake - just about any way - salmon is fine with me.

I guess I’m having a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch today.

  3. Me too. I have to get some bread, but I was on my way to pick up something for dinner anyway. And a cold drizzly day like today just cries out for tomato soup, maybe with some Fritos on the side.

  5. Here Rich read this - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2274747/At-truth-Butter-GOOD--margarine-chemical-gunk.html

My Mom ate only real food her entire life (I remember all the dairy being delivered directly to the house until right before I graduated from high school (1973)). And she also believed exercise caused cancer - but despite both of those she lived to be 93 (less than 3 months short of her 94th) years old. And genetics had little to do with it - as her Mom died at 54 and her Dad at 75.

Yes, only one case study. But I believe 75% of what information we get is healthcare lies provided by Big Food and Junk Science studies rather than real Medical information. And once again - just one person’s opinion.

Dairy doesn’t bind me up - it does the exact opposite!
