6. You know - I’m much too jaded - not too graphic for me. After what I’ve been through and seen (spend an hour on a Shriners ICU - to get an idea of what real misery is) - and of course our tv and movies just let it all hang out.

   Sad - death used to mean something. My Mom laid my Dad out in our living room. Several reasons for this - as it ended up allowing the VFW, the Medical society and a private ceremony all done before dark - with specific groups of people. Most people would think that a sick thing to do now days. Personally I think it made the finality of death stick in all our minds.

   Too many people have no clue and don’t even care to grasp how truly awesome it is to not have to deal with the violence, suddenness and graphic nature of what people do - to themselves and each other.

   I wish many times over - that I had been so lucky. It’s one of the reasons I don’t take a single second of life for granted.

    Wardmama, that’s a practice that deserves a comeback. Still legal in Ohio to lay out and prep the body for whatever. I prefer cremation, but that’s a family decision.
