  1. Vilmar:

Trust me when I tell you that there is expunged, and then there is expunged. Should he EVER apply for a professional license of any kind, or ANY government job requiring even the lowest security clearance, this little goof is going to come up like a bad meal. - And the USSS, and FBI will produce the file double quick. The Feds may not have prosecuted the knucklehead, but they surely won’t forget.

  2. Back when I grew up in NY in the early 70’s there was a thing called Youthful Offender Status.  It was basically a get out of jail free card.  If you were under 18 and got busted it kept the record of that crime sealed and we all knew it.  But, it was only a one time good deal. I’ve seen it used for up to crimes of armed robbery.  It looks like NY may still have it on the books.

  3. As we all know the administration of law is very presice and the wording is very important (hence we have lawyers who keep it that way for job security).

I believe if you look at the wording of each states statute you will find the word sealed, which means you have to move heaven and hell to get access to them.

Often when you do you will find the charges and dipostion of the case, all other records of the preceedings haveing been expunged.

Some states now have statute that allow charging minors as adults if the crime warrants it. (I believe 13 in Florida).

As Bob pointed out this is a one time deal as once they are unsealed and acepted as evidence it’s public record from then on.

Having said all that young Mr. Oatmealforbrains should pull some hard prison time (with no computer access to reflect on his stupidity…

  4. He will forever be on the Secret Service’s watch list, that never gets expunged.

  5. A while back I read of a New York-I think it was NYC- patrolman-who-get this-SPENT TIME IN JAIL FOR A GANG KILLING! He was a minor at the time so everything’s cool now. He found God or something-and he was very sorry for his actions. Great. That still doesn’t bring back the “kid” he murdered, and it CERTAINLY doesn’t qualify him to be in law enforcement!
BTW, if MY son ever did something like that idiot first mentioned, the boy would be BEGGING to be put away until he became legal!
