  1. I didn’t read the article, because I just ate a Breakfast Taco, and didn’t want to see it come up. Why don’t the Dems just change their name to the Socialist Party, that seems more fitting. They actually scare the shit out of me.
They will put a Big spin on this to show that National Healthcare is what is needed and will cost less. Leave it to the Dems to try and screw us AGAIN.

  2. You hit it right on the head Vilmar.  People are offered health insurance but don’t want to pay their part of the cost so they decline coverage.  The company I work for, Auto Zone, even offers health insurance to its part time employees.  It may be expensive but it is there if they choose and it is a good plan.  Problem is people expect others to pay for their coverage.

  3. I do not want to pay for that, no sir.  I was in the 15% of the uninsured for a while, but that was because I was taking a break from school and not considered a full-time student by my nineteenth birthday.  However, I now have health insurance, and it is mighty good.  Not to mention that my employer (UPS) pays for it.

  4. The cost of health insurance (private/group) is out of control--it has been that way since the onset of Title
    18-19 (Medicare & Medicaid)---before I became Medicare
eligible I had no insurance---the cost (if I would have
medically qualified) would have been about 30% of my monthly income!  No thank you.

Healthcare costs (direct effect on premiums) keep rising
at an out of control rate--including in this RISE is the fact
    that medical supply/equipment manufacturing companies
gouge provider of care under the pretense of “it’s
medical” which is bull shit.  IE: stainless steel surgical
sizzors are 3-4 times the cost for “medical” as they are
at the Singer Sewing Shops!  Look at the rape of
    everybody by the drug companies......

I could lecture on-----this come from a 45 year career
in healthcare administration and not some Left and/or Right
    propaganda crap!

  5. I may not know much about the health care industry but I do know about market forces and I CAN tell you that whenever anybody, making anything , selling anything, doing anything knows that someone else will pick up the tab, their “prices” for goods and services will rise.  Think about it.  You do not sue someone who is broke.  You sue whoever has money.  Same concept applies in medicine.  If I sold equipment and knew that Mom and Pop were paying the bills, I could not charge as much as they could not pay as much.  But because Mommy Government or Daddy Industry pays the tab-----UP, UP, and AWAY go prices.

And just how much better do you ACTUALLY believe it would get when Mommy Government picks up the WHOLE tab?  You’ll be wishing for those halcyon days when medical insurance was ONLY 30% of your pay.

Please. stop with the bullshit arguments.  Government is NEVER the answer.

  6. A lot of our problems would go away if there were no such thing as a tax free benefit.
And no one needs health insurance - they need health care. Insurance is just one way to pay for that care, the one that puts the most overhead expense on it. Imagine if some judge were to decide that since you needed gas to use your car, your car insurance carrier had to pay for your gas.

  7. I know & admit that there are a lot of uninsured people and a lot of people who must pay mucho bucks for healthcare.  I work in a hospital and as a single person pay $82 dollars a month for health insurance.  I have had a multitide of health problems & surgeries in the past 6 years and since I have used the system I work for for my care (and my system is one of the top 10 in the country), I have never paid out of pocket for anything- and some of my hospitalizations & surgeries has been in the vicinity of $30,000. I guess I should consider myself one of the lucky ones.

  8. WELL, LAST WORD: I am not going to waste my time (and my 45 years) discussing healthcare/health insurance with folks who do not have my realm of experience in the business--

Dear Dottie, $82 a month to an RN is peanuts--but think of the NA who is making 1/2 of what you make!  Premiums
are per employee regardless of their salary.

  9. Dear OCM- I know what you are saying and I know that our employees with families pay more for health insurance.  However, if they use our system for their healthcare, any balances after their insurance pays is waived and that is a big perk as our system absorbs the loss.........it sure can’t get much better than that.........
