Now hold on...there is no way to get out of the building and down to ground floor? How can they do that?
Beats me. I guess they assume nobody is here in the daytime. I suppose if I had an actual emergency and really needed to get out they’d do something.
I stuck my head out a little while ago and the concrete dust was like fog. Now the cement truck has shown up, so there’s going to be 25 feet of fresh concrete laid down soon. I hope it cures a bit before folks come home around 5:30. Maybe they’ll be smart and just pour it on one side today, and the other side tomorrow. I wouldn’t count on that.
If you don’t have access to the ground floor, the solution is simple: Call up the local Fire Marshal and say so. Ask him to send someone out to look and take pictures.
