strictly speaking, not eye candy but nice person. which counts a lot.

 

1. I think his remark is sexist in that he’s publicly rendering judgement on a woman’s attractiveness. In other words, he’s rating her as an object, a “looker”.

   Actually, she isn’t bad looking, and nobody looks their best when all sweaty playing tennis.

   And the pollen count excuse is total bullshit. I have allergies every day of my life, and it ain’t no excuse.

   On the complete other hand, it is much more allowable for women to vociferously give their opinion in public (and often in group format!) about the attractiveness (or lack thereof) of various guys. “Stanley? Stanley?!? EEEeeeeewwwwww!!” which shows you the dichotomy of our culture and that women want it more than both ways: don’t objectify me unless I want to be objectified, but it’s fine for me to do it to any guy since guys all do it all the time, even if they don’t. But, to be fair, this is almost never done in a professional situation, especially not a professional media situation (TV, magazines, etc).

   All of which could have been avoided had the world NOT forgotten a bit of gallantry from days not so long gone by; all women are beautiful, even if you find a different style of beauty more appealing.

   (wait, gallantry? Like chivalry? You mean that horrible sexist behavior by those terrible misogynist male chauvinist pigs, treating women like weaklings who couldn’t do anything physical for themselves; opening doors and carrying packages, and worse; because women couldn’t be expected to actually think, and couldn’t be exposed to any even slight amount of criticism or else they’d boo hoo all the way home?)

   (Damn right! Burn the pig! We demand full equality as long as we remain superior in all circumstances when we feel like it!!)

2. In real life, NOBODY looks like those A list beauties.  She’s pretty nice to look at in my book.
