Storm Of The Century?

  1. We could sure use some of that rain here in Texas.  My yard is starting to bake in the sunnier parts.  We’ll keep all in the path of the storm in our prayers.

  2. Son of a bitch! My sister and her family live near Hurlburt AFB...which is near Pensacola! They’ve alredy got plans to evac to Jax when the word comes down. When Ivan hit near there last year, their house was SPARED any major damage, but I don’t know if that’ll be the case this time, especially if Dennis goes Cat5.

  3. Man, it’s been raining gatos y perros all day here in northern VA.  I barely made it to work - riding the bus is a bitch in rain like that!

  4. My sis, her hubby, and my niece live in St Pete, they’ve been visiting our family in KY. They were due to head back home tomorrow but those plans MIGHT be on hold considering how Dennis decides to move. They’ll be watching the advisories today and going from there.

I’ve got other family scattered over the state of FL (Palm Beach, Miami, Ocala, West Palm Beach) so hurricane season is always nervewracking for me.

And to think I WANT NAS Brunswick to re-align so we can get relocated to NAS Jax!  LOL

  5. ztucka,

You’re having lots of rain ??  I’m having lots of sun to bake my yard to a crisp.  Not that I mind as I don’t have to mow the two acres.  But how can you be having such cats and dogs and I be having just lizards and scorpions? We’re only miles apart.  My satellite is bonkers.

    Severa,

Now that my son has moved to Lauderdale, I will be like you - on pins and needles with each hurricane.

    Mack,

If ‘Dennis goes Cat5’ ?  God, you have such a way with words....  :} I guess that would be like ‘going nuclear’.  Actually, Cat5 would be like going nuclear - which is not funny.

  6. Phoenix-

My parents are in the same boat as you weather wise. They’re just southeast of Louisville KY and it’s been in the mid 90s for a while there. Here in Maine the past few days it has barely broke 75 (can you tell I HATE this place? GAH!)

    Mack-

Do you know if NAS Pensacola has finished cleaning up after Ivan? My husband rode out the storm in an elementary school a few minutes north of the base and spent the rest of his A school experience doing clean up work.

  7. In St. Louis right now, the temperature is a nice toasty 92, no wind to speak of except that damned drafty breeze blowing all that dust in Kansas over here (which has my sinuses all clogged up). No relief in sight. Do you suppose somebody could steer Dennis our way before he blows his entire wad over Florida. We could use a good bath.
