  1. I’m really surprised and honored that you’d include anything I said here.  Thank you!
May this new year find you feeling better and your wife as well. God bless you and all BMEWS!  This must be what winning an Oscar feels like.  Sort of.  smile

  2. Peiper, I… I don’t know what to say, other than thank you.  You see a post like this where you’re mentioned in with many other greats, and it really teaches you some senility.

  3. Cool! I don’t comment much over here, but one of mine made the list!

  5. Yup, we’ve got a great bunch here.

still laughing about “work her way up to defective”. So wrong, yet so good.

  6. Thank you for posting some of mine - and also jackal’s (we kinda know each other) It’s nice to see one’s own words out in ‘public’ - as sometimes I just feel like I’m ‘preaching to the choir’ - so to speak.[sadly I can’t remember reading a single one of those of jackal’s - must be on eye candy postings - as I don’t read those anymore. Although the Rick K - ‘yummy comes in many colors’ - is a good one.]

Don’t believe so Wardmom.  Those comments were mostly political and social. I went back and re-read.

Reading what ppl say here, it’s beyond my grasp to understand why some have not tried to seek public office.  Or .... does everyone who goes into office automatically become corrupt?  What folks here say appears so reasonable and logical to me, whereas the pols all appear as lying tramps with huge egos and a hunger for power. Sheesh. Look what old age has done to me.  With the folks who run for office today (yesterday too) is there a huge difference between them?  It’s like they’re reading from a script.
Ignore me. It’s bone chilling damp and rain all day today, and some wind too.
I think I need a mild new year day drink.
    Cheers

  8. I refuse to read any blog that would cite one of my posts.

Ah, funny story on that comes to mind. Older brother went to Harvard (started pre-Med at Dartmouth - being the oldest male in the family, in the old days, did have some down sides) - and went on to Law school in MI. Moved to sunny failafornia - and was elected the youngest mayor in the state. He probably served half the ‘sentence’ - as he said - it is to much on wheeling and dealing, lawlessness, gaming the system, lies and money - so the end of the story - he went to work as a corporate lawyer, retired at 50 and went to be a criminal illegal invader in Canada. And he talked about lawlessness, gaming the system and money running everything. What a joke. Wouldn’t even come home for his mother’s funeral.

  10. Just talking to the youngest about this (corruption) and a final thought on my story above - If the lawyers and politicians don’t obey the law - what chance do freedom, civilization and America have?

  11. You’re starting to get the picture. Lawyers and pol. are above the law in their view and the laws only apply to the average person. What does this tell you about society when a felon can be reelected as mayor? And the answer to your question is it can be taken back but it’s a long road. A very long road.
