  1. I can’t help but noticing that the UN always trys to protect the bad guys from getting their asses so righteously kicked.

I’ve noticed another thing - if the ETHOPIANS can kick Somali ass all over the place why couldn’t we when Blowjob Bill was in charge?  Oh yeah, cuz he cared about people.

  3. Hopefully they have keyed on the foolishness of letting the bad guys go just because they run away.  Now is the time to crush them against the sea.  Sherman’s tactics come to mind…

  4. This morning I read that the E-team is at the gates of Mogadishu. Best quote: “An Islamic official said his troops were simply entering a new phase in their battle.” Yeah, that’s called the LOSING phase!!

Expect the capitol to fall in 48 hours or less, though the clean-up there might last a while. After that comes the real test: no surprise that the moosies are getting onto the suicide bomber bandwagon. How the Ethiopians deal with that will be illuminating. Hope the Pentagon is watching and willing to learn if necessary.

(thanks for the new icon Skip. Can we have one with a big green crescent getting shot full of holes? It might come in handy some day)

  5. "The Islamist forces once in control of much of Somalia are crumbling faster than anyone expected...” For the NYT, that might read, “The Islamist forces once in control of much of Somalia are crumbling faster than we had hoped...”

African Islamists are pretty good at beating up on women and kids, arresting people and hanging them, driving around in their technicals high on kat shooting at each other…

If the UN does what it really does best, they will sanction Ethiopia, call for a cease fire so the Islamists can regroup and fight back, then blame America when it all goes to hell in a shitbag.

Hope Ethiopia just kicks ass and takes names; after all, these pig spews are right on their doorstep.

  6. It’s a pity the Sudan doesn’t have Ethiopia as a neighbour. Another bunch of mad mullahs that are in dire need of getting their butts kicked.

  7. Blimey, it ain’t just us Yanks who failed geography after all! LOL Sudan borders Ethiopia to the northwest. Somalia borders Ethiopia to the southeast.

The ICU in Somalia is calling for all moosies to join in their fight. If Sudan answers the call and gets into the fray then Ethiopia will have a two front war ... for about a week I think, then a one front war for another month. Ethiopia is somewhat allied with Uganda, so if the whole region goes up I’d expect the Ugandanese to side with them against Sudan.

If the seaside countries of Djibouti and Eritrea (no pals of Ethiopia) get pulled in, AND they get overt aid from their pals in Yemen, then I’d bet the US gets it’s hand in too. At least the Navy at any rate. Might be time to de-mothball a battleship or two; those skinny little countries along the Red Sea could be destroyed by old style naval artillery.

  8. Right On Ethiopia!  You’re a lot smarter and braver than a lot of the world.

To Sherman, I’d add Ghengis Kahn, General Patton and any Russian General who served on the German front in WWII.  There’s no victory like the total annihilation of the enemy.

  9. Anything less than total annihilation is never victory - unless you are a lawyer crafting the present day order of battle....

Along that line, can anyone imagine lawyers embedded with the Marines on Guadalcanal?  Or on board with Halsey?  Or Wild Bill Donavon having his ops cleared by legal before turning the spooks loose?

Is it any wonder why our guys are reduced to riding the roads dodging explosives instead of waging a scorched earth campaign - which would have been over and done with a long time ago.  Not only saving American lives, but sending an indelible message to the religion of peace.

One upon a time, American lives were worth more than our enemy’s lives and the commanders conducted operations accordingly.

  10. I think the capitol will fall quickly. No question that the moosies will be routed; all the leaders ran away a week ago and the few fighters left are ready to bolt.

I really really hope that Ethiopia does not stop with that. They need to fully route the local warlords too. As much as I believe in RKBA for us, I think the Somali population needs to be disarmed. This article at somalinet says the islamists are stripping off their uniforms and giving their guns to their cousins. So the country is primed for insurrection and a fall right back to the warlord mess of the last decade. Don’t waver Ethiopia, this is no time to go all wobbly!
