Running With Scissors
I am baffled as to why anyone would need scissors on an aircraft? I mean if you are on holiday and you desperatly need to trim something, surely you can buy a cheap pair of scissors??? As for racial profiling I have nothing against it.
In my job we are constantly criticised for picking on minorities. Unfortunately it is minorities that give us the majority of our work. They are also the ones that shout the loudest about being discriminated against. Our management are gutless and all to often cave in to the complaints. I am reminded of Churchill when he once said about the Labour leader Ramsay MacDonald;
I remember, when I was a child, being taken to the celebrated Barnum’s Circus, which contained an exhibition of freaks and monstrosities, but the exhibit on the programe which I most desired to see was the one described as “The Boneless Wonder”. My parents judged that that spectacle would be too revolting and demoralizing for my youthful eye, and I have waited fifty years to see the Boneless Wonder sitting on the Treasury Bench.
Such is the state of much of Britains politicians and law enforcement. Run by Boneless Wonders who are all chasing the minority vote.
The way to solve the problem is to brutally kill all of the terrorists. If any are captured, torture them and slowly, excruciatingly, agonizingingly kill them on live TV (CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, Al-JAZEERA forced to cover it). Then kill their immediate families. Stick the decapitated heads of the terrorist and his family on stakes along the road to Mecca. Covered in bacon strips.
You’d be surprised how fast the terrorist acts would stop then.
Fight fire with fire. Kill ‘em all and let Satan sort ‘em out.
Pussyin’ out and trying to be kind and gentle will solve nothing. It will only get you killed.
My cousins an airline pilot recently promoted to Captain. He just got back from gun training with the FBI. He was trained extensively in both gun usage and hand to hand combat. 13 hours a day for several days in a row. He can now kill a man with his bare hands and he decided on a .40 caliber Smith & Wesson. He also gets one of those coveted federal gun permits as he travels state to state and needs to carry the weapon with him at all times. He says that most of the pilots are opting to take the training and get the permit. Out of the three or four pilots, co-pilots on any given flight at least one of them will be packing!

MJS, that’s good to hear about your cousin and other pilots packing heat. But then again, isn’t it still illegal for pilots to be armed on planes?
Allan, I agree with you about brutally killing all the terrorists and their immediate families and broadcasting it on tv. On the other hand, how would we get any pig products into Saudi Arabia? Our government is still kissing their slimey behinds.

My mom used to carry scissors in her purse for clipping coupons or for embroidery. A lot of women do that.
We were discussing ‘prejudice and stereotyping’ in psychology today...and as usual I made myself reeeeal popular. When our professor brought up the issue of ‘racial profiling silly little me had to comment about how it made no sense to search 2 year olds and swedish grandmas when most terrorism is being committed my moslem males of a certain age.
I was told that racial profiling is wrong because ‘where does it end’ and in a country like the US it’s an infringment on individual rights if all citizens aren’t searched ‘equally’. I was called ignorant by more than one person.
She then spoke of the ‘us vs them’ view. I said that it was the free world against the islamo-fascists that want us all dead or inslaved and that what we were fighting right now was WWIII.
I was told that my feeling were fueled by fear and that if I spent time with muslims I would fear them less.
After all...education is the key to ending prejudice.

Having traveled frequently since 9/11, I pack my little scissors, my nail files, my corkscrew, & even the little eyeglass screwdriver into my checked baggage - I’ll be damned if I would let the TSA confiscate my miniscule belongings.........Last time I traveled (Sept 05) I was asked to remove my shoes & my belt - dammit, I hardly fit the terrorist profile.........
