A point for those who are new to VA benefits. COMPENSATION is for those who were injured in the military. It can go to well over $2000 per month, depending upon the degree. It is also regardless of other income.
PENSION is for vets not injured in the service, but who are disabled or aged and impoverished. Other income does count.
I believe SSI, which is need-based would have to consider service connected compensation. Any substantial injury would take you over the income limit, I bet.
Same thing for job injury. Remember Worker’s Comp.
