Rare leopard cubs born in Kent, England.  Not the usual fare for a political blog site I guess but

  1. Love this news.  Here at the St. Louis Zoo, of which I am a Friend, an amur leopard was born ths past May.  Her name is Sofiya and she had to be hand-reared as her mother failed proper maternal care.  She was raised in the Childrn’s Zoo but recently graduated to life in the Big Cat Country area.  The previous month, the Zoo had 5 Amur tiger cubs born.  They recently entered Big Cat Country after being raised by their mother in the “maternity den”.
I am an avid zoo-goer and am always thrilled about stories of the endangered animals survival, even if in captivity.

  2. Hi Pixie,

Well I’m happy there are two of us that enjoy this subject.

I was really taken with the story especially as they are so rare.

This place is only about 7 miles from our house, and yet it’s been more then 20 years since my last visit there.  By the look of these links, the place has grown quite a bit since my day.
