What are the odds for official statements by authorities about not resisting, about complying, or perhaps about the possibility of pressing charges (against Mr. Garratt) if someone shows up at the Hospital with blunt trauma, possibly after being hit with a sherry bottle? Isn’t the fact that they enclosed the counters’ area with security glass a violation of the necessary accommodations one must provide to these poor victims of the capitalist society, thus furthering their need to redistribute (someone else’s) hard earned money and goods, and increasing their anger toward people that actually work for a living? {/Sarcasm off}
Well good for him! Shame his arm got cut up, but come to think of it, had those been really proper Samurai swords, he wouldn’t have his arm any more.
I call for the creation and issue of a proper shopkeeper’s shotgun; 3 16” rifled barrels that use a special 10 gauge shell filled with a low velocity mix of 000 buck and #6 shot. Heavy and unwieldy, it would be worthless past 10 yards, but would tear the hell out of anything closer. And make a dandy club when empty. A modern blunderbuss.
Reminds me of a friend a long time ago in Lawton OK - 7-11 in Lawton had a bad time - all of them had been robbed multiple times, she begged not to have the overnight shift - no go, so when the inevitable happened (thug attempting to rob) she was prepared - threw canned food at him until he fled the store.
Quick thinking is important - but sadly what the Liberal Left has taken from too many is the desire to stand up and fight back.
Drews comment comes closest to sensible. But another idea would be related. Before you get your shop keepers license you attend firearms training and are issued a sidearm or a short handy shotgun. If you want to lock it in a safe in the back, that’s on you. If you wish to wear it for such occasions as this, you’re licensed to do so. Actually wouldn’t take many dead hoodlums before your shop was considered unsafe to attempt to exploit. I worked night shift at a store once upon a time. I carried a .45 under my smock. Almost had to use it once, but the perp saw “the look” in my eyes and decided it was not a good idea after all.
I’m glad they didn’t do the usual newspaper thing and shorten it to “a samurai attack”. Real samurai were supposedly very concerned with honor.
Although I see they did that in the video itself.... grrr....
