1. Any faith that needs to be spread by the sword is no faith at all. This is a false religion. By their own “holy” book, if you leave islam you’re marked for death, not by God but by the hand of man. That’s just sick.

   The Skipper’s quote is the bit that got the Pope in hot water a couple months back. He should be giving fire and brimstone sermons against them every single day! Isn’t that basically his job after all, to be the ultimate defender of the faith he leads?

2. War is for when all else fails.  I believe the Pope, like many, wants to make every reasonable and unreasonable attempt at diplomacy.  For many of us, we have made the decision already that diplomacy is pointless with Islamofascists.  I have no problem with any one following G-d as he/she understands G-d.  I do draw a hard line when someone else’s faith tells them to deal unjustly with me or any other civilized person.  Personally, I believe that reasonable diplomacy has already failed.  I only hope that the resulting religious war will not be as vile as others from history.  I really don’t expect it, but it is my hope.
