Slowly, now .. it’s “unfair” not to take money from people by force to support candidates they do not like .... Got it!. ”While pharmaceutical, insurance and other industries pump millions of dollars into political races” .... their own money, given willingly, right?
I don’t think we need a law forcing unions to get written permission—just let workers who won’t pay sue if they are punished. And damned if I can think of a good plan to eliminate big money contributions from campaigns. Utopian scheme would to have small government—no reason to pump billions into campaigns. Naahhh!
Oink you’re right that politics especially in the US has become a big money enterprise. Nevertheless I have to say I agree with Arnie. If my union were paying into the Labour party over here (which most unions do) I would like to have some say in the matter. I don’t support Labour. I never have, and never will. Maybe the majority of union workers are Democrats and are happy to fund them this way, but they should be given the opportunity to say so. I fail to see how Kerry can complain about this. People have the vote? Is that not enough?
I agree, LBJ, but when the Gov’t controls trillions, the prize is worth spending billion to get.
Hey Senator Kerry...you’re not a Californian so STFU!
I asked my union if they were putting my dues toward their leftist political goals-one of the ‘highlights’ of my local’s website is something called’BushWatch. They said no, they weren’t.
Yeah-and I got a bridge to sell ya.
Did you ask them if “BushWatch” is not a political goal?

Mack—here’s a cop trying not to laugh. Maybe Barb saw them during her Protest warrior activities.
I think this has been posted before.
Kerry is showing how he would like to run things.....’the little man doesn’t need a vote,
just let the government take care of it.’
