  2. We were vacationing in Georgia, bicycling down the path with strands of Spanish Moss flung around out shoulders ... a lady yells out her car window, “THASS FULLAH REDBUGS!”.  And so it was; Yankees call them chiggers.

  3. Well, Oink; isn’t funny how some lessons are remembered more than others?
Those little red boogers have ruined the day after many a fishing trip for me, but I didn’t know they infested Spanish moss.  And I was just thinking about stringing a hammock between those two live oaks.

    Now here’s to the chigger
    Who isn’t any bigger
Than the head of an undersized pin.
But the welt that he raises
    Itches like blazes
And that’s where the rub comes in!

  4. Miss Doll, Is that park in Savannah?  It sure looks tranquil.

  5. Doubtful it’s Savannah since Savannah is more Northeast Georgia then Southern Georgia..unless the gallery is mislabeled..

  6. Neat pics of the trees with the Spanish moss.............saw a lot of similar trees at the Leu Gardens in Orlando and during an airboat ride through the Dora Canal while I was in Florida in February - got lots of neat pics.........

  7. athough in the grand scheme of things Savannah could be considered southern if you are looking at atlanta.. but it’s just sw of the South Carolina Border..

  8. Thanks everyone- just FYI- the pictures are from where I live in South East Georgia- Saint Simons Island, Brunswick Georgia area- which is southeast coastal Georgia. It is located about halfway in between Savannah Ga, and Jax , Fla, right on the coast.

  9. The place has the feel of a college campus.  But that building in the background might be a church instead of a college admin bldg.  The style of streetlite & the top left glimpse of ornate railing, between the fork of the tree, remind me of a campus.

  10. Definitely looks a lot more inviting than the frozen wasteland tundras of New England…

Hey! That’s why there are so many liberal moonbats in NE (and other cold places), their brains got frozen solid and never thawed out excaim

My Plan B from Outer Space is already in place, I have my future “retirement” place just over the border from GA, in western NC.  Where it was 78 degrees on Wednedsay, while it was only 27 degrees here in the polar ice floes, where glowball warming is only mythology.
