As beautiful as it appears, to me its a sign of complete and utter madness.
Having lived in Japan I can tell you this beautiful creation was erected in some dank apartment by a guy with absolutely nothing else going on in his life. Setting it ablaze could be a way of erasing 4 years of unhappy memories and loneliness.
Kuso .. Hello and welcome. You’ve been gone awhile.
Gee… that’s pretty bleak. But it has to take lots of patience and a good eye for detail to make.
Kuso JiJi:
I can see that.
I just wish he could see a different end to his work than “destruction in fire”. It is a beautiful work of art. I’m sure a museum would be more than happy to display it.
I could be wrong and the guy is pure genius, but the impression i got from the article leads me to believe he’s one of many within Japanese society who totally isolate themselves. These loners become totally obsessed with their hobbies to the point where everything else around them loses importance and relevance. Japanese call them Otaku (nerds).
He is probably getting some national exposure right now and the TV time should get him laid. Once he has a chance to clear his mind, I’m sure he’ll figure out burning the thing down is a stupid idea.
