  1. Fucking Donks in Congress will just sit back and jack off....

  2. The almighty dollar blinds Congress, AND the President to the dangers that China represents. For a long time China has regarded us as the ‘enemy’. When China holds wargames, they practice using the US Military as the enemy. Thanks in part to Bill Clinton, the Chi-coms are now, more than ever, our biggest threat militarily.

  3. I’m of the Sputnik Generation.  I recall a dark night in the Maryland countryside when we responded to a party-line telephone call.  My father, mother and I went out into the horse pasture to look for a tiny pinpoint of light in the sky.

Didn’t seem so significant at the time.  It jarred our senses when we prepared a make-shift bomb shelter just a few years later during the Cuban Missile Crisis.  A nation that can launch satellites can also launch nukes.

I tell my World Geography students that China (I continue to call it “Red China") is an “emerging superpower” and that it will be their problem after I’m long dead.  China’s growing population of young males and declining population of marriagable females may lead to international crisis.

They are modernizing their armed forces and seem to be going against a thousand years of isolation by expanding their blue-water navy and reaching into space.

As the Chinese say, “We are cursed to live in interesting times.”

Welcome aboard, Navigator.  I’m slowly becoming comfortable in commenting after the Skipper’s death.
